LOWER TRESTLES, California / USA (Wednesday, September 21, 2011) – The Hurley Pro at Trestles has returned to Lowers for the fourth consecutive day in clean two-to-four foot waves and today’s action will begin with Round 5 and eventually crown the 2011 winner by day’s end.
Stop No. 7 of 11 on the ASP World Title Race, the Hurley Pro at Trestles has seen the world’s best surfers put in mind-blowing performances compliments of Lowers’ high-performance walls, and with only the event’s top performers remaining the final day of competition is set to be action-packed.
“We’ve got clean surf on offer this morning and with unfavorable conditions forecast for the remainder of the waiting period we’re going to finish today,” Richie Porta, ASP International Head Judge said. “We’ll begin competition at 8am with Round 5 and crown a champion by this afternoon.”
Up first this morning will be Taj Burrow (AUS), 32 against Heitor Alves (BRA), 29, in the opening heat of Round 5.
