Kelly Slater Wins and Takes Home the Bell
Behind the scenes on the final day of The Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach. Congrats to Kelly on his 4th Bells title.
Moving up the coast to Johanna Beach, Kelly Slater Slater grinded out four heat wins to win his forth Bells title defeating Michel Bourez, Bede Durbidge, Bobby Martinez, and Mick Fanning. Kelly rode his trusty 5’9” x 18 3/8″ x 2 1/4 Whip round tail as a tri fin set up with his FCS K.3 fins.

Kelly truly earned the right to be tired after surfing 4 heats in one day and coming away with the win!
Mick is always a true sportsman, win or lose, today just happened to be Kelly’s day.
Kalani Miller, Kelly’s girlfriend also thought the trophy was “hot”, not sure who the chump is in the background making faces though!
Here, the native tribe tells Kelly the story behind his gift, a Didgeridoo, and in return Kelly actually gives them his trophy to keep at the cultural center.
Here is a bottom shot of the same board. This was one of the new boards that was made for him and brought over from California days before the event started.
Also want to give big props to Tom, he won two heats against Occy, the first one on his 5’1″1 Tangent, and today on his Proton.
Occy was all smiles, and just loves being in the water with Tom!
Kelly packs up his sticks and his didgeridoo and heads the two hours back to Torquay for his celebration dinner!
